Grand Opening - Well, sort of
After 3 months I've finally gotten this site near completion. Looking forward to offering high-definition content. I'll probably start out just recording the major fights in high definition because HD media is expensive at the moment, but it is something that I'm definitely going to take on in the very near future. Last week I visited the Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather press conference at the UIC Pavilion here in Chicago and I can't say that I'm all that excited about this fight. I don't find Floyd Mayweather to be an exciting fighter anymore. He doesn't put combinations together anymore and does more waiting and potshotting with his punches than anything else. Hopefully the bout will be a surprise.

My take on Mayweather vs. Hatton
Okay, this is the fight that everyone, including myself, have been waiting about 4 years for. A classic boxer vs. puncher showdown. Although I feel that Ricky Hatton may have the perfect style to beat Mayweather (you're not going to outbox Floyd), I just feel that Mayweather's skill set is too vast for Hatton. If Hatton had trouble with the slick-boxing Luis Collazo, then how is he going to beat Mayweather? His only chance, in my opinion, is to stay on top of Floyd for the duration of the bout, because he allows himself to be in the center of the ring, Floyd will just potshot him to death. I'm picking Floyd to win this fight by a late TKO.

Mayweather victorious!
Wow, just wow. Ricky walked right into that shot. Floyd really did a masterful job throughout the bout of ducking and not allowing Ricky to get off his withering body attack. Midway through the fight I thought we were headed for another 12-round stinker of a decision, but I was satisfied with the outcome. This fight further solidifies Mayweather as the best fighter in the sport. I would like to see Floyd fight Miguel Cotto and then walk away from the sport.
